Stripe marketplace is coming

Stripe has launched its marketplace. It's a big deal even for a such company as Stripe with 7B USD in revenue. What does it have in the first version?

Overview

Stripe has got a huge base of customers, due to one of the best dev experience among payment providers. I would not be surprised if in one-year Stripe’s marketplace would have thousands of apps, but here are the numbers:

• 51 apps

• 51 devs

• 10 categories including All

• 2.8M visits for stripe.com

Structure

The 3 top categories are ‘Data and Analytics’, ‘Marketing and Sales‘ and ‘Productivity‘. These names suggest that Stripe is focusing on improving decision-making and growth for its clients. Everything that draws sales and reduces costs are in high demand by most businesses.

Growth

At the moment the marketplace growth steadily - 1 one app per week. In July 2022 only 2 new apps were added ChargeAutomation and LeadDyno Affiliate Marketing.

It does make sense to say that ChargeAutomation were at 12 places last week and in the first position this week. This means that the listing position depends on some internal algorithms which are not clear at the moment.

I hope Stripe will be competing with Shopify quite soon, but now here is what we as apps maker have:
